The Young Curators’ Course:  Curate Art (Organise an Exhibition)

This course is facilitated by Iniva and led by course tutor Adelaide Bannerman, in partnership with Tower Hamlets Summer Uni. It is an intensive introduction to the process of selecting and exhibiting art works.

Participants will receive practical tuition from visual arts professionals across the areas of research and curation, communications and technical support. They will achieve a broader understanding of all the stages that contribute towards making a presentation for public viewing. This stage of the course will include meetings with artists, off-site visits to galleries, and a visit to the exhibiting venue 93 Feet East where selections of work across different media made by students of Tower Hamlets Summer University will be presented.

The second part of this course will enable participating Young Curators to put into practice what has been learned during the summer by selecting work for the 2009 edition of the Best of Art show to open at London City Hall from 19 October – 30 October 2009.

Course dates and time:  Monday – Friday, 27 July – 14 August 2009, 11am-3pm.

Age Restrictions:  16 -23

Venue: Rivington Place
