Tessa Jackson was the Chief Executive Officer of Iniva from 2009 to 2015. She has over 25 years experience within the visual arts as a gallery director, curator, and consultant on cultural policy and strategic planning in Britain and internationally.

Tessa Jackson was the founding Artistic Director of Artes Mundi, Wales’ International Visual Art Exhibition and Prize, a role she held from 2002 -10, combining this with running her own consultancy – International Cultural Development. She was appointed as Interim Chief Executive to Iniva in November 2008 and has curated exhibitions by NS Harsha and Chen Chieh-jen as well as Zineb Sedira.

Tessa Jackson was co-author of the Review of the Presentation of the Contemporary Visual Arts which led to Arts Council England’s 10-year strategy Turning Point (2006). As Director of the Scottish Arts Council (1999-2001) she contributed to Scotland’s first National Cultural Strategy, and as Director at Arnolfini, Bristol (1991 – 1999) she curated a range of significant exhibitions and prepared the way for its building re-development by appointing its design team and gaining an Arts Council capital lottery grant of £5.3m.

Tessa Jackson has been awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for services to art.
