This resource pack attempts to redress the lack of critical discourse relating to contemporary art made by African artists in Britain. Aimed at tutors and undergraduate students, it traces a number of paths which artists from Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Sudan, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Senegal have taken and was published on occasion of the exhibition Seven Stories about Modern Art in Africa at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London in 1995. The pack contains a contextual essay, a bibliography and colour slides.
