Fun and easy for young children to use, the Dare CD-ROM lets children creatively explore ideas around play and performance, space and place, language and translation. It combines artwork by children and international artists, and is packed with activities involving words, images, sounds and ideas.

Aimed at five to ten year olds, this flexible resource can be used in a broad range of activities at Key Stages 1 and 2. Organised around key themes, rather than subject areas, it enables children to discover connections between ideas and processes for a more holistic understanding of how art, language, work and play interact in school and society.

The accompanying 24-page booklet offers parents and teachers a guide to using the resource with children. More information on many of the artists featured in the CD-ROM can be found at: www.dareonline.org

The Dare resource has developed from a research project, linking children, artists and designers in a collaborative process, using a rich mix of old and new technologies.

No special software needs to be installed - it is designed to run straight off the CD-ROM. QuickTime is needed to view some content, and an installer is contained on the CD-ROM.
