Did you know that when designing Rivington Place, architect David Adjaye found inspiration in a Sowei mask from Sierra Leone? Have you wondered what tricks are employed to make the building appear taller and longer than it really is?

Interesting facts about this unique and carefully designed building will be revealed in this Open House architecture tour.

Rivington Place, designed by leading architect David Adjaye, opened to the public in 2007 and was awarded RIBA ‘Award for London’ in 2008. This 15,000 square foot, five-floor visual arts centre in Shoreditch is the first new-build public gallery in London since the Hayward Gallery opened in 1968.

Join us for free tours of the building to learn about its unique and unusual design aspects, see the exhibitions spaces and Stuart Hall Library as well as areas which are usually off limits.
