Aaron Williamson is a performance artist and also profoundly deaf. He studied at Brighton Polytechnic and at the University of Sussex, where he earned, in 1997, his PhD with a thesis entitled Physiques of Inscription. Since then his work evolved toward performance practice and video. His publications include A Holythroat Symposium (1993) and Cathedral Lung (1991). Williamson is Arts Council of England Fellow in Writing and Contemporary Art at the Ruskin School of Fine Art and Drawing, Oxford University.
