Between 1977 and 1985 Mark Wallinger studied at Loughton College, Chelsea School of Art and Goldsmiths College, London. He has exhibited at the Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, the Serpentine Gallery, London and was shortlisted for the Turner prize in 1995. He is probably best known for his recent video works and for Ecce Homo, a life-size sculpture of Christ that occupied the 'Fourth Plinth' in London's Trafalgar Square in 1999.
