Barbara Taylor is a freelance visual arts consultant and curator. She has been the Programme Director for enquire* since Autumn 2004. Prior to this she was Director of Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery for 12 years, where she developed an ambitious programme with a particular focus on the fusion of concept with material and process through outreach projects, public commissions and national touring exhibitions.

Barbara developed the arttextiles series of survey exhibitions and associated site specific commissions textiles on site. She was a consultant and independent curator from 1985 to 1993, and previously visual arts officer and local authority liaison officer for Cumbria at Northern Arts (Regional Arts Association for five northern counties of England).
