Growing up in Sri Lanka he drew and sculpted and had a keen interest in creating art. The artist moved to the U.K as a teenager, and acquired his first SLR camera during studies in Aberdeen. This opened up a new means of expression, and he experimented and taught himself different photographic techniques through creative play, deciding to study Fine Art at UWE in Bristol. Since then he has continued to develop and refine his skills in macro photography, portraiture and low-light and wildlife photography.
Avi has been producing digitally manipulated art works for the past 6 years and also uses his stock images in his practice of fine art, design and illustration. Since 2007 he has had exhibitions of work in Ireland and the U.K.
