Ivo Mesquita

Ivo Mesquita is a curator and critic living in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He holds a degree in Journalism (1972), a degree in Art History (1975) and a Master Degree in Arts (1980) from the Universidade de Sao Paulo. Until 1988 Mesquita worked at the Sao Paulo Biennale Foundation, where he curated the exhibitions Expressionism in Brazil (1985) and Unique Imaginaires (1987). He has written for the periodicals Guia das Artes, Art Nexus and Poliester and lectures on Latin American Art in Canada, United States and Latin America. At present he is a Curator in Residence at the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, NY.
