Sargent Claude Johnson

From around 1925 Johnson gained recognition with portraits and busts. Most of Johnson's works produced after 1945 reflect the ideas of the Harlem Renaissance: Black portraits, masks, and mother-and-child themes executed in drawing and sculpture.
