Emily Jacir graduated from the Memphis College of Art and the University of Dallas before joining the Whitney Independent Study programme in 1998. Born to Palestinian parents, her multi-media work is an ongoing investigation into the often unconscious markers of virtual borders, - between territories, places and states. Her work has recently been included in exhibitions in Vienna, Florence, Oxford and New York. Emily Jacir lives in New York.
