Alison Donnell earned a doctoral degree in Caribbean Studies from the the University of Warwick. Since 1995 she works as Senior Lecturer in the department of English and Media Studies at Nottingham Trent University and is joint editor of Interventions: International Journal of Postcolonial Studies. She has written many articles and book chapters on Caribbean literature, particularly women's writing.
