Samta Benyahia

Samta Benyahia is an Algerian French artist who lives and works in Paris. She uses Arab Andalusian geometrical motifs and rosaces - called Fatima - to explore issues of contrast, such as light/shade, female/male and inside/outside. She exhibited her work in the Venice Biennale (2003) as well as in solo shows held at the Institute Francais (Alexandria, Egypt, 2003); Spacex Gallery (Exeter, UK, 2001/02).
