Iniva's training placements are designed to give those from culturally-diverse backgrounds the chance to gain experience within the arts sector. The placements are a key part of our drive to make a positive cultural, social and economic contribution to the international art world. Trainees gain experience which is valuable on their C.V., and are provided with mentoring and career advice.
Trainees usually work within one of the following areas: exhibitions, education and events, multimedia, library, publications, communications, administration. Occasionally traineeships may be offered across a number of programme areas. Approximately six to eight traineeships are offered each year. Details of any upcoming traineeships with application details and deadlines are posted on this page of Iniva's website.
Traineeships are usually offered on a part-time basis, two to three days a week for between three and six months. Standard working hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm. Some traineeships may involve weekend and evening work which will be in lieu of weekdays. Iniva will cover any work-related expenses but cannot pay a per diem or travel expenses to/from the office.
Iniva is unable to make an offer of permanent employment at the end of traineeships. However, all candidates will have a formal career development review in which we will assess what you have learned and how you can apply your new experience to further your career.
