Andrew Lewis makes extraordinary drawings and sculptures for enchanted imagined cityscapes that combine a sophisticated use of simple materials with often painstaking detail found in architectural renderings. For his installation at TheSpace@inIVA, the Institute is commissioning new work, facilitating Lewis's experimentation with 'new media', which for him happens to be clay. Often his sculptures are large scale and may project an internal architecture or a pastoral, internal view of domestic city life. Or they may propose playful solutions to domestic, travel and work problems.
