As part of the Artist-in-Research programme Nicky Hirst spent a period of four weeks at the Stillman Eastwick-Field Partnership, an architectural practice with offices in Islington, London.
Through the access to the practice's library and the contact with the staff, Nicky Hirst became interested in instinctual and responsive architecture, 'architecture without architecture'.
A series of drawing revealed her architectural observations. Repetitive punctures made in the paper; laid out flat on the table made images appear like a plan rather than an ordinary drawing.
