No Perdemos Nada con Nacer, Regina Jose Galindo. Prometeogallery di Ida Pisani.
Since the mid-nineties, when Guatemala emerged from several decades of devastating civil war, artists have been investigating their country's traumatic past and current realities through recorded performances and actions.
Performing localities is a two day event composed of a series of screenings and talks around contemporary Guatemalan performance art on video.
Performing Localities guest speakers Joanne Bernstein and Rosina Cazali will present a series of contemporary Guatemalan artists film and video, including work by artists Dario Escobar, Regina José Galindo, Anibal Lopez, Angel Poyòn and Sandra Monterroso, that open up some of the key themes considered by Performing Localities. The screening will be followed by a discussion.
