Year 9 students from Newham worked with artist Gayle Chong Kwan to produce Sensus Shoreditch, part of Iniva's Mapping Beyond series of exhibitions at Rivington Place.
The students and Gayle Chong Kwan began by experimenting with smell, sharing their experiences and memories of food. This lead to discussions of other senses and eventually to experimenting with sound as an art form. Their sensory explorations began in the Rivington Place building itself and then moved out into the surrounding streets of Shoreditch.
The result is Sensus Shoreditch, an audio and sensorial guided walk from Rivington Place into its surrounding community.
