Osbaldo Mahlo: 1979, 2001, Three colour prints, 150 X 50
A project presenting new music video artworks by Colombian artist Juan Pablo Echeverri and London-based Latin American collective Nueva Generacion.
Appearing to Be features two music videos created by members of Nueva Generacion in collaboration with Juan Pablo, alongside a new commission by the Colombian artist. The exhibition also includes a selection of paintings and photographs by members of Nueva Generacion.
Juan Pablo's practice incorporates photography, video art and performance. Appearing to Be presents playful and poignant recreations of music videos, combining contemporary music with traditional Colombian folk to explore notions of personal and cultural identity, musical self expression and the popular music industry.
