In the spirit of the archive season, inIVA returns to the sporting motif explored in past projects, such as Offside! Contemporary Artists and Football (Manchester City Art Galleries, 1996) and Boxer: An Anthology of Writings on Boxing and Visual Culture (1996). We are inviting galleries in the London area to take part in a table football tournament in December 2003 to raise money for charity. A range of galleries will be invited to enter a two-person team; the competing teams will play against one another for the honour of being crowned the first inIVA Art Cup champions.
The winners of the competition will receive a trophy made by Hew Locke and commissioned by inIVA and The Guardian. The event is hosted by Bar Kick in Shoreditch and supported by The Guardian.
