As part of Black History Month 2006, Tresses was a very successful project involving local people. Artist Meschac Gaba was commissioned to create a number of hair sculptures which were presented at various locations in Hackney and at Spitalfields Market.

Supported by Hackney Community Services, for Black History Month 2007, Iniva is working with Brazilian artist Leticia Valverdes who will be inviting African and Caribbean groups  to participate in an inter-generational photography project. Everyone is welcome to visit the specially customised photographic studio in our new building. The final portraits will be made into postcards and exhibited at Rivington Place during October.
