Bloomberg's significant support over a three year period (2007-2010) has enabled Iniva to expand its education programme, reaching new audiences within local schools and communities across East London.
Bloomberg generously supports the following activities in 2007-2008:
Formal education programme
As part of the major Creative Mapping project, there are various artist-led programmes in primary and secondary schools designed to engage learners in exploring the ethics, aesthetics and politics of map-making. These programmes enhance the National Curriculum at Key Stages 2-5 (ages 7-18).
Informal education programme
East London is an area of intensive urban regeneration and creative vibrancy but also one of the poorest areas in Britain with some of the capital's worst deprivation. Iniva's Bloomberg-supported programmes with youth and communities engage a broad range of local people from different cultural and economic backgrounds.
